Agency honored for year-long pro bono work on behalf of Gilda’s Club NNJ
LITTLE FALLS, NJ –The Marcus Group, Inc. (TMG), a boutique advertising, public relations and crisis management agency, was honored by PR News with a coveted Platinum PR award for its outstanding community service for Gilda’s Club Northern New Jersey (Gilda’s Club NNJ), a nonprofit cancer-support organization in Hackensack.
In the Pro Bono category, TMG was recognized for donating its services for more than a year to help the nonprofit boost its image, recruit new leadership and increase membership and donations.
To commemorate its 40th anniversary, TMG will be choosing an additional nonprofit organization to receive its communications expertise free for one year. Deemed the “Forty for Goodness Sake” project, the firm’s employees conceived the program as a way to celebrate its anniversary and highlight its history of charitable giving.
“For 40 years, we have always done pro bono work for worthy, nonprofit clients,” said Alan Marcus, president and CEO. “Gilda’s Club is an exceptional organization that fell on difficult times. We worked with Gilda’s Club to help the organization regain stability.”
TMG utilized its expertise that stems from four decades in business – using advertising, crisis management, public relations and social media to help revive Gilda’s Club after it was nearly forced to close its doors. TMG instituted an innovative and multi-faceted communications campaign that included a new donor outreach strategy, updated website and newsletter redesign, recruitment of new leadership, a complete “green” renovation of its clubhouse and several new fundraising events.
